The mastermind of this instrumental band is Dzidek Marcinkiewicz who was born in Poland, but later in 1981 emigrated to Germany. Since then he has been playing different instruments in various projects. Dzidek plays all the keyboards and pianos on this CD, and it seems that he is the main composer of all the songs, although other musicians, who are Germans judging by their names, also don't want to remain in the background. Especially the guitarist Frank Tienemann shines with the masterly lead parts and often prevails over other instruments, what of course is only the merit of this album. "Fortune Memories" is a really succesful mixture of instrumental guitar/keyboards oriented rock in veins of Vai/Satriani (late 80's/early 90's period) and meditative/world music touch. Even if some tracks have a slightly progressive touch, the album is very catchy, so the listener mustn't focus his attention on the structure of the songs. Although there are no weak songs on this release, the strongest ones are "Centre Opti Fuga," "Dark Angel" and especially "Night Over Marakesh." (SV)
